A Hamilton man has developed a cure for homosexuality. Peter Rosenthal, 65, who was educated at Caledonia and Mt. Hope elementary and high schools, Hamilton’s Central High and Ryerson Polytechnic in Toronto says “It is not just a treatment, ointment on a wound, it is a cure that attributes any form of sexual aberration to a previous life or lives in which severe trauma occurred and can be used to cure anything that falls under the heading ‘abnormal psychology’, including obsessional states, anxiety conditions or maladaptive patterns in relations with other people. I call it a ‘core for homosexuality’, because homosexuality, the most severe and widespread of anxiety conditions, fundamentally originates in fear.”

Rosenthal, who is not a psychiatrist or psychologist but “primarily a semiologist”, says his method is based on the same technique of dream analysis Freud developed, but is far more extensive, linguistically sophisticated and dependable than the one Viennese psychiatrist used. It also depends on having a far larger body of recorded dreams to work with.

“You will need quite a lot of recorded dreams even to begin, five or six hundred or about two years work, so it’s not a quick cure”, Rosenthal says, “but once the subject has the necessary number they will reveal the shape of his Unconscious. More importantly, those dreams will reveal to him randomly and out of order: the trauma or catastrophe causing his homosexuality, in which life the incident took place; and the names, nationalities and languages spoken in the past four lives, as well as the manner of their deaths. So far as past lives are concerned, only the first two can be traced reliably enough to produce birth certificates, army records and other documentation;

but memories of the third and fourth lives will only be faint but reliable enough that the broad general themes of the subject’s current incarnation are recognizable and assumptions can be based on the findings.”(待续)
